The pressure is being

The pressure is being systematically applied, by the Maine State Police, and must be fierce on those who were there that night, and have knowledge of what happened.

Soon, one of the group is going to roll over on the rest of them and that will be it. Just what this media exercise was designed to do, by the police. Steve McCausland is a thorough professional and, for several days, has been playing the media like a maestro playing a fine violin. I think Mr McCausland is one of the greatest assets that MSP have in this case.

Just a matter of time til checkmate!

In the what its worths departments, reporter Michele McPhee from Channel 5 Boston who i believe first broke the story about blood found in the basement, she has been in the Waterville area to report on the missing baby. She is the female equivalent/version of Howie Carr. Like Carr, an excellent ,aggressive, investigator reporter that gets to the bottom of stories.

When i learned Channel 5 Boston investigator reporter Michele McPhee was in the Waterville area, i knew she would start getting to the bottom of this story. She is the the reporter breaking the news with words to the effect about the possibility the little girl is not alive.

There is also a news story in the Mornining Sentinel tonight :"9:40 PM Police: TV report that Ayla is dead is 'inaccurate' Staff Report" on Mcphee http://www.onlinesentinel.com/news/State-police-blast-TV-report-that-Ayl...

TV report that Ayla is dead is 'inaccurate'
Maine State Police released a statement tonight blasting a Boston TV station report that police believe 21-month-old Ayla Reynolds is dead as “unattributed, irresponsible and inaccurate."
Citing unnamed police sources, WCVB's Michele McPhee reported today that the missing toddler was believed dead and that the search for her body had intensified.
State police spokesman Steve McCausland, "have said from the beginning of this case that we remain hopeful for Ayla Reynold’s safe return…”

People are typically more

People are typically more comfortable, more relaxed, more willing to open up, taking with a reporter than the police. People, relatives, and others are likely stating to sing...

"DiPietro left a police station when confronted with luminol-enhanced photos of his daughter’s blood splatters taken by crime scene investigators a week after he reported her missing"

"DiPietro has denied any involvement in his daughter’s disappearance. He did admit to accidentally breaking his daughter’s arm weeks before he reported her missing.
He canceled a follow-up appointment with his daughter’s doctor on Dec. 12, Trista Reynolds' sister, Jessica, told Newscenter 5."

Its like a game of cat and

Its like a game of cat and mouse. One has to wonder if the mother and her friends and her family have tainted any of this case by revealing any of this before the police could finish their investigation. Who knows, they could be closing in on what really happened and now she may have just made their case harder to prove. That is why in New Hampshire you don't see them release key information or hardly any information at all until it goes to trial.

It is said that there is no

It is said that there is no "honor" amongst thieves. And it is my experience that blood oaths to keep secrets til death, are the "made for TV' stuff. In real life, when several are complicit in a crime, they are all basically selfish cowards, and sooner or later, one or more will roll over on the others, trying to save their own neck.

I belive the police are very carefully controlling the flow of info, to willing media, in order to put pressure on the suspects to cause one or more of them to break.

How would any of us like to have knowledge of a serious crime, have pledged to keep it secret, and then have to live while watching this kind of pressure building, day by day. There is threat of long serious punishment for those involved. Something to weigh against any so called "loyalty".

Seems to me it is working.

Howie Carr makes this point all the time when he is doing investigatory research; the police and government Officials are saying one thing via public pronouncements, meanwhile he is getting emails and phone calls from the rank and file telling him what really is going on. If Howie Carr stopped early on in his career because of government backlash at his methods, it would be 'Howie who?' today

Portland's former Deputy Chief of Police, Joseph Loughlin, was on the Ken and Mike show this morning offering his thoughts on the Ayla Reynolds case. A worthwhile listen. Go here http://560wgan.com/ and click on the podcast.

If you missed tonight's [tue

If you missed tonight's [tue night/dec31/2012] Nancy Grace program, she seemed to insinuate the disappearance/ or what ever happen to the baby may not have taken place 'Friday night into Saturday morning' but before.

The baby had a doctor's appointment 4 days before the weekend night that was cancelled by the father, according to reports in the newspapers.

[Nancy Grace's shows are often posted on you tube the next day. I will post the show if it does]

Ok folks, does anyone want to bet on just how much taxpayer money that this outfit has sucked out of us.....while they party and show off their preggie bellies, and having an othewise splendid time.

When I see stuff like this all I want to do is to see DHHS go totally broke so this madness can stop....finally.

Divers return to Waterville in search for Ayla Reynolds!

It bothers my concsience, greatly, that some of my tax money is used, by DHHS, to "reward" wretched people like this bunch for having children they cannot be responsible for. And this is just a drop in the bucket.

If one wants to know why I despise so much of what DHHS does, all they have to do is look into the more seamy side of this story. By giving the fruits of our labor to the subculture like this, we are committing national suicide of our culture. Booh on the weeping liberals of the left, who can find endless ways to use the power of the state to "help the needy" so that they can feel morally superior to the rest of us.

How truly needy was this bunch? How about the thousands more in this state, just like em?

WC, I don't want to hijack

WC,
I don't want to hijack this thread so I will keep it short. This is just the tip of the iceberg. The liberals not only allow this type of behavior but endorse it and when a new consequence arises, ie, pregnancy it is a win win for the liberals. Either the woman kills the baby or she has it and lives on taxpayer money. Either way the dependency culture procreates by procreation and at each step of the way a liberal is there to hand out money like oxy.
These liberals have absolutely no idea what they are doing to these children. I have witnessed this firsthand while my 3 week old son was recovering in Maine Med. We shared a pod with 3 other babies, each cried constancy, day and night. After seeing the parents of the year come and visit the babies it all became crystal clear. The babies were going thru drug withdraw. Mom and the flavor of the day would spend an hour and off they went again until the next day while reeking of cigarettes and booze. If you saw what I saw it would tear your heart out.
I won't say that these types of mothers do not love their children but I will say they value them very differently than the normal population. They are used as tools, pawns in a money game and when it goes south they exit the scene as fast as possible while providing a thimbleful of helpful information to locate their missing toddler.
God have mercy on that innocent child.

None of these people deserved

None of these people deserved to have children as far as I'm concerned. Once she was taken away from mother's custody, she NEVER should have been placed with father. I wonder about the little boy the mother still has. Is he safe? I hope this gives the mother a real slap in the face and she wakes up to the horrors that they are inflicting on their kids and she straightens out to give the little boy a chance at a decent life.
It makes me so angry and this is the polite version of how I feel.

Divers find no new clues in search for Ayla

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says divers searching for Ayla Reynolds today re-examined an area in the Kennebec River in Waterville that was last searched Jan. 11. He says they also searched a stretch of the Messalonskee Stream.

Officials said today's dive yielded a backpack and a knife, neither of which was connected to the case

Dive Warden Robert Johansen, left, helps fellow diver Mike Pierre prepare today for a search of the Kennebec River below the Carter Memorial Bridge. Dive teams from the warden service and state police are searching two areas in Waterville for missing toddler Ayla Reynolds.

DIVERS RETURN TO AYLA

DIVERS RETURN TO AYLA SEARCH

Trooper Dan Worcester exits Messalonskee Stream next to North Street bridge in Waterville Friday. Dive teams from the Maine Warden Service and Maine State Police Friday resumed searching for clues to the disappearance of 22-month-old Ayla Reynolds.

Staff photo by Michael G. Seamans

Divers searched the Kennebec River underneath and downstream from the Carter Memorial Bridge and Messalonskee Stream below the North Street bridge. Teams searched the same bodies of water on Jan. 11.

Adam said last month's searches were incomplete. Divers had considered returning earlier, but poor weather prevented it.
