A Bath woman was found guilty in Lincoln County District Court earlier today on two counts, stemming from vandalism earlier this year involving American flags mounted on the Westport Island bridge.
Following a brief trial before Judge Tucker, Heather Willoughby-Bertrand, 23, was found guilty of criminal mischief and unauthorized taking of property.
Bertrand was ordered to pay a $250 fine for each count and she was ordered to pay $100 for restitution.

"The witness, Murlyn Greenleaf II, blocked the Jeep driven by Willoughby-Bertrand and notified local law enforcement."
A tip of the hat to Murlyn Greenleaf II.
Hyphenated name says it all!
One salute to Murlyn!!!!!!
Bruce - you sure about that?
As a local resident I am sooooo happy that "woman" got a conviction.
Now the bad news......I walked by her store after the fireworks on heritage days at Bath and she was open. Sitting out front. IF I didn't have my kids I would have......at least told her my mind. I did tell hubby who she was.
I looked her up when I heard about it and I was shocked to hear she was a business owner.
I was going to check out her store before she did that but now I sure won't. I am picky who I give money to.
BTW, Mrs. Greenleaf's son is in Iraq, thats why the flags are there.

We have already established that you are a recovering liberal. :D
I know plenty of women who were NEVER liberals who have hyphenated names. And besides, I'd already well begun my recovery by the time I got Hyphenated.
Update! I was in Bath today. Ended up at the store above HW-B's store. I look at the girl chuckling at my silly son. IT WAS HER! I would recognise that belly anywhere. Same halter top as in the pics.
Turned my back on her when I realized it was her. Should have just left the store. But I was getting a mug for my friend who just bought a ton of Tupperware.
Today's Wiscasset paper says the son of her lawyer took a pic on the 5th of torn flags and tried to pass it off as a pic of the 4th and said "the flags are always tattered". The family who put them up had to accuse him of tearing the flags since they were fine on the 4th. (Am I clear?)
Then HW/B ticked the judge of by asking for community service but not where the judge wanted her to do but insisting on the animal shelter.
I cannot believe these people. Is this the dumbest lame attempt at evasion or is it just me?
