I wish Trump would just

I wish Trump would just respond to the press with "which wrong answer do you want me to give you?" and walk off.

Having read Trump's actual

Having read Trump's actual statement, and his many prior denunciations of right-wing-nutjobs, the press is deliberately distorting.
Having read the actual statement by a certain Google employee, that too has been totally misrepresented.

The MSM aren't reporting anymore, they're spreading propaganda.

He never should have convened

He never should have convened that gaggle of big business rent seekers in the first place. A direct phone line to the NFIB will lead to better policy.

Trump's denunciation of neo

Trump's denunciation of neo-Nazis, etc. blah blah blah shows the same level of credibility as a hostage video. That AMGers continue to defend him goes beyond mere shitheadery.

Anyone here could have

Anyone here could have written a press briefing that would have won over the media.

Imagine, he steps up to the podium. 3 second pregnant pause. Then his first words are, "I HATE NAZIS".

Crowd goes wild.

There's no easier political layup than a national tragedy - and it's a 3 point play if it involves neo nazis or arabic or persian terrorists.

And yet he manages to completely screw it up.

He should have taken a page out of Eric "My People" Holder's book and called it workplace violence. Then I'm sure you'd have been on board with it.

More like his ball was given

More like his ball was given back to him and everybody left:

Blackstone Group LP chief Stephen A. Schwarzman, who organized the conference call, called the White House and spoke with Jared Kushner, Mr. Trump’s son-in-law and a presidential adviser, to give him the news, according to a person familiar with the call. Around the same time, the manufacturing council also had a call and decided to disband.
Within minutes of the call to Mr. Kushner, Mr. Trump posted on Twitter that he had dissolved the councils

They disbanded before Trump disbanded them…

I see people come and go at

I see people come and go at the white house and marvel at some of the people President Trump has allowed to walk past security, but it looks different to me. I may be a simple rube living in the woods but I see Mr. Trump acknowledging people who have talents to make things happen, giving them a chance to step up to the plate and maybe for the first time in their life, do the right thing. Give back something to the nation that made you wealthy. I still believe in Mr. Trump and his giving greedy, self centered scumbags a chance to serve. Maybe a leopard can't change their spots but it is charitable to give them the opportunity.

Who could have foreseen that

Who could have foreseen that the country’s titans of industry and capitalism would be so maligned by the AMG faithful for simply not wanting to associate with this Administration any longer. I guess if all it takes now on AMG to be characterized as “greedy, self-centered scumbags” is to go against Trump, then this is turning out to be a strange place for sure. I always thought that given a choice between a politician and a capitalist, folks here would give more gravitas to the capitalist any day of the week. I’m surprised a smart individual like Mark Cenci would characterize the news as “good riddance”. Seems to me having the country’s most successful business people advising our government on job creation and growth would be a good thing (or should have been if not for Trump screwing everything up). But I guess the leftover government hacks and deep-state bureaucrats know how all this economic stuff works anyway…

#draintheswamp indeed.

The country's most successful

The country's most successful business people became that way by ripping off a consumer public with over priced and under quality goods and services, not to mention charging interest on imaginary money.

The people of this nation elected Mr. Trump to lead it. We are sick to death of business as usual. Elitists are welcome if they can demonstrate why they are elite, not just because they are talented con men.

The only concession I am willing to make is that this is a blanket statement. I neither know the names or the history of the people who were invited to that council. Their decision to abandon the American public has to be based on something. Was it righteous indignation? Moral outrage? or bottom line economics?

I would love to be wrong but am terribly skeptical of the garbage being passed off as government and public service these days.

I was astonished by a conversation I had with a friend recently. He is replacing the roof on his home due to storm damage. He said he had his home paid for but took out a loan to replace the windows, some floors, and the entire HVAC system. I guess its just me but the house being only 15 years old seemed like it should have held up better than that. I have many examples of why I rant.

It’s amazing to me that you

It’s amazing to me that you have so little regard for our capitalistic economic system by believing that the only way someone can become a very successful businessman is by “ripping off a consumer public with over priced and under quality goods and services…”, and being “con men”. Choice & competition in a capitalistic system should allow a consumer the opportunity to avoid those pitfalls, shouldn’t it? By your logic, Trump should have been your last choice for President, since his campaign was based solely on selling the electorate on his perceived business acumen. You elected a business man but hate what they had to do to get to where they are. Bizarre. Although, I will agree with you that the con man characterization fits Trump to a ‘T’.

Ive always preferred

Ive always preferred politicians listen to small business people rather than big business people, hence the reference to NFIB, the nations premier small business advocacy group.

I believe in general small business people advocate for more liberty and less govt while big business people advocate for bigger govt

Goes double in times of "economic nationalism "

Sorry to not make my points clearly.

North is just looking for a fight with anyone who doesn't denounce Mr. Trump.

He was my last choice. It was either vote for him or stay home. The list of candidates looked like a list of things you might find in a septic tank. Only Mr. Trump wasn't on that list. He may be the scum of the earth, if you are correct, but a breath of fresh air considering all things.

Everyone on the left insists

Everyone on the left insists that a vote for T was a vote for racism, and thus the voter is a racist. Sweeping generalization, thus a prejudice, and thus bigotry of its own. No surprise there.

Most voted *against* C, because... TPP, for starters. How can you be for "buy local", union jobs, environment... and still vote for the candidate pushing TPP, which will send jobs overseas and then ship the goods back at who-knows-what environmental cost? Yet those who voted for C don't get labeled for that doublethink exercise - they still get to say they made the responsible choice.

Hypocrites will never get a vote from me.

You voted for Trump, moron. His Make America Great Again hats were merely stitched together in the US. All the pieces were manufactured elsewhere. Not to mention the ties and suits that bear his name. Ivanka's shoes (including the design she plagiarized from another manufacturer) are made in Chinese sweatshops. How do you breath with your head so far up that orangutan's butt?

TY Jasper for proving what

TY Jasper for proving what miserable hypocrites most dems are... and vulgar too.

What you can do NOW and make a business work, and what you can do AFTER the miserable trade deals are fixed - are two very different things. Folks who actually run a business have to make it work financially, and the trade deals made using US labor impossible. He wants to fix it - you want him to pretend it's not broken. Liberal IDIOCY.
