Top Democrat Says God on Kerry's Side

JohnIf that is true then I'll assume that God wishes CA, AZ and NM to be eventually ruled by former Mexicans.

Top Democrat Says God on Kerry's Side

Well, I guess that's it, we might as well fold the tent!--------------------------------------Harkin campaigns for Kerry, Pettengill, says Kerry's rise in polls is what God wants
By Dean Close - Times CorrespondentVINTON - Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin says John Kerry has been gaining in the polls every day since Oct. 21, and George Bush has been going down every day."That's how God wants it to be," Harkin told a group of about 25 people at the Benton County Headquarters in Vinton on Thursday afternoon.
Harkin was touring the state to stump for Kerry and Democratic legislative candidates. He appeared in Benton County on behalf of Mt. Auburn Mayor Dawn Pettengill, who is running against incumbent Republican Dell Hanson for the Iowa House District 39 seat.Harkin spent the first part of his speech echoing many of the campaign themes of the economy and Iraq sounded by Kerry in his presidential campaign.Harkin predicted victory for Kerry on Tuesday, saying that the polls that show Bush and Kerry in a tight race do not include the many new Democrats who have recently registered to vote.(Most polls only use input from likely voters, which mean those who have voted in previous elections.)
Harkin said that in Iowa, 50,000 new voters registered as Democrats recently, but only 20,000 registered as Independents and even fewer - 9,400 - registered as Republicans. After encouraging the party faithful to get out the vote for Kerry, Harkin turned his attention to the Iowa Legislature, which he called an "albatross around the neck" of Gov. Tom Vilsack, whom he referred to as the "best governor in the United States.""This is the worst legislature I've seen since the 1950s," Harkin said.Harkin didn't remember the name of Pettengill's opponent, but told the group, "he has to go."Harkin introduced Pettengill, who used her speech to respond to Republican mailings and television ads blaming her for a tax increase in Mt. Auburn by saying the city council was forced to increase taxes because of budget decisions made by Hanson and other Republicans in the legislature.
###I realize that it's a stretch calling Tom Harkin a "top Democrat".--Fred

Isn't Harkin the guy who said he was a Vietnam vet and was found out to have gotten only as far as Vietnam?

Yes, Bob...Harkin is just another Democrat that has trouble with his "searing" mechnism in the recall part of his brain:[url=http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/8/19/85102.shtml]http://www.news..."...Mr. Harkin's Navy record shows his only decoration is the National Defense Service Medal, awarded to everyone on active service during those years. He did not receive either the Vietnam Service medal or the Vietnam Campaign medal, the decorations given to everyone who served in the Southeast Asia theater.""It turned out Mr. Harkin had not seen combat and was stationed in Japan."

It will not be God who steals the show on November 2, it may be the lax immigration and voter registration laws. Bush and the r's have allowed large quantities of new voters to come across our borders, through apathy and indifferance, and in the delusional frenzy to satisfy businesses and corporate hacks. They have helped sow the seeds of their own demise, what irony. Only lately has Bush been saying anything about the new mexican/american war, attempting to blame the democrats for allowing our porous borders. Where was Bush and his INS for the last 4 years? hoping that the new americans would get republican religion, anyone knows if you need a handout, vote d.Yes, the thousands of lawyers will be quite busy after November 2, and many of whomever we vote for won't amount to chits.[ 10-29-2004: Message edited by: Mike G ]

Since 9/11 Bush has added more than a 1,000 Border Patrol Officers to the federal payroll. Plus he has added more air coverage of our borders, increasing the border air fleet. And he has added unmanned drones, and a dirigible, plus improved surveillance and interdiction in the air and on the sea. Positive changes to our border seucrity have been made and continue to be made. Regarding Harkin and his "God" quote. I'm sure he's right. I mean, don't we all believe that God would approve of a man who consistently supports the killing of babies in the womb, especially babies who are about 3/4's born, and then killed by having their head punctured? WHAT A LOAD OF BUNK! It is not good to mock or turn one's back on God. While He is our very loving God, He DOES kick butt, take names, and render FINAL judgment. The Bible is resplendent with true stores that prove what I have just written is TRUE. Disbelieve at your own risk.
