Weren't tasers supposed to supplant the use of firearms by law enforcement in many incidents?
No they can replace things like baton strikes, non lethal use of force in certain situations.
Basically when confronted with the potential use of deadly force against an officer, another person
the approprate response is the use or deadly force.
I have never seen a use of deadly force policy that included steps such as a tasering, or a law fro that matter.
