At some peer reviewed journals, there isn't any actual peer review (other than ensuring the check clears).

Many arguments for various scientific theses rely on reference to peer-reviewed publications... which should be viewed skeptically, as this latest sting reveals.
That's awful. I know my own only published paper got pretty well savaged by the review process. I eventually got it passed but they definitely read the shit out of it.
