Not if the leftists get their way!

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/feb/02/if-the-gender-pay-...

Marxism refuses to acknowledge that one person could be doing a better job. All differences are due to discriminatory practices, so everyone should be paid the same. In order to enforce this idea, your pay must be made public.

This does not, of course, apply to leftists themselves. Everyone is equal, but they are more equal.

So how do you propose to

So how do you propose to address wage/salary inequity between genders? Serious question. The disparity is real - how would you fix it?

Is it? If so, why don't the

Is it? If so, why don't the leading pols of the DNC show us the way by paying their own staff equally? The fact that they don't has been revealed several times.

Is violating everyone's civil rights (privacy, etc.) a good idea?

Should everyone who does the same job get the same pay? Apparently they must all do their jobs equally well, since the quality of their work is never mentioned in these analyses.

Should the elite be compensated at the stratospheric levels they currently command? Is their acting, singing, dancing somehow different than all the others who perform?

Oh gee, that idiot claim

Oh gee, that idiot claim again about pay inequity between genders. Many studies prove it doesn't exist. Only those unable to read or are purposely choose to remain ignorant puke this stuff up periodically.

One article which does a great job of detailing the facts (yeah, I know...this pesky things) is linked below. Just Facts says some of the reasons women have smaller pay checks are:

1. Full-time male workers average 6% more workdays per year and 5% more workhours per workday than full-time female workers.
2. Males typically have more work experience and are more likely to pursue technically demanding and higher-paying careers, such as computer science and finance.
3. More than 28% of U.S. workers are in physically challenging occupations (like construction), and most men have considerably more muscular strength than most women.
4. Women are more apt to take jobs that offer higher fringe benefits in exchange for less cash wages.

Read the article and put this crap in the trash heap where it belongs...

Opening up salary information

Opening up salary information is actually really good for workers, even if it were done anonymously.

There is a dirty secret about hiring, and that's that hiring firms collude about salary information to suppress wages. (Maybe it's not really that much of a secret).

@Gerald:

@Gerald:

I actually think the gender wage gap is less than reported. It's not to say there isn't subtle sexism and racism in the workplace - that's pretty much a fact that anyone with half a brain that works can see - but the meme of 78 cents on the dollar has a lot of holes in it, mostly having to do with career selection.

Many years ago I worked for

Many years ago I worked for the old Casco Bank. Salary info. was a bigger secret than anything the CIA.or Defense had.
Payroll was computerrized and payroll was run by a supervisor when no other staff were in computer room.
All secretcy has a downside. It reared it's ugly head when a copy of payroll run was inadvertently left on top of printer.
Given a fellow computer operator was having a pay issue with mangement , proceeded to wall paper company lunch room with printout during
late nught shift.
Shjortly after sunrise as numerous employes arrived for morning coffee things got a little tense.
Conversations weny like this. "I have been here for 15 years and she has been here for two (with her short skirt up to her butt ) she makes more than I do.
Mangement had a real bad day and pay equalization was on table. The standard practice of naming everyone a assitant VP got a better reward also !
