RIP Tea Party

A Republican president just killed the Tea Party. Those pesky debt hawks, armed with lawn chairs and snake flags have now been replaced with hillbillies in MAGA hats.

Spend, spend, spend! Cut taxes for the rich and lift that debt ceiling to infinity and beyond!

America should declare bankruptcy.

Fiscal conservatism is dead.

Is this Trump's "Nixon goes to China" moment? Let's throw out anything resembling fiscal responsibility and just press the "fear of brown people" IV drip button... oooooh more swing state votes... yeahhhhh keep it comin' baby

AC, you hit the nail on the

AC, you hit the nail on the proverbial head.

The deficit and fiscal responsibility will be forgotten by Republicans in 2020, replaced by xenophobia and hate. The rush toward reinstalling their orange conman will cloud their judgment again, nullifying any rational thought and sense of morality they once may have had. Re-electing a thrice married serial philanderer and crook is paramount to them. Nothing else matters.

I've said it a thousand times

I've said it a thousand times... and the alternative is? A socialist? A leftist political tyranny? Seriously?

If Trump wins, it will be because the left puts up a candidate so bad no other choice is possible. Like HER, or Bernie, or Biden, or worse...

Both parties are at fault but

Both parties are at fault but there is one in the majority.
I know it is just a coincidense that it is the one you all go along with because they do not like Trump.
As long as you keep the insults going you keep the lack of attention going !

If Trump solved the issue TC you would still do what you do.

Republicans control the

Republicans control the Executive branch and the Senate, hence they constitute the majority.

I’ve hated Trump since the 1980’s, when he was a racist conman serial philanderer. He really hasn’t changed...

If Trump solved the problem,

If Trump solved the problem, he wouldn't be Trump. He is hated by the left for the same reasons he is revered (and emulated) by the right: he is a xenophobic, narrow-minded, thin-skinned little man who couldn't reason his way out of a white hood.

Leftist are such dishonest

Leftist are such dishonest scoundrels. They never called Trump a racist until HER loss to him. Only then did the lies start. Until then, they hung out with him, partied with him, solicited donations from him, etc., etc., and so much more. This is just a smear campaign by disgruntled cheaters who tried to rig an election and FAILED.

Toolsmith, it appears you are

Toolsmith, it appears you are simply trying to justify your support for Trump by listing the D's you couldn't vote for. Can you name a D candidate who could win your support? BTW, you say people weren't calling Trump a racist before he beat Hillary. You know that's not true. TC posted a video of Lindsey Graham calling him a bigot in 2015, and there were plenty of people pointing to his (and his Dad's) racist behavior earlier.
By the way, Bruce, thanks so much for your insightful comments on this thread.

Again, David, where was the

Again, David, where was the alternative?

DNC essentially put up 2 candidates - HER and a Communist. That's supposed to be a choice? And then they cheated to eliminate Bernie... and intended to do the same to any candidate put up by the RNC. When their cheating failed, they unloaded the dossier - paid for by the Clinton campaign - to try to undermine the winner.

The MSM colluded with the DNC - many members of the MSM are current or former DNC operatives, and at least one was a DNC official - to obstruct candidates they considered a "real threat" and promote Trump with free air time. No mention of his supposed negatives at that time, that only started after his run began. And 2015 was well within the campaign season, as you well know, so that Lindsey Graham video counts not at all. The never-Trumpers (RINOs) were in on the collusion as well. The swamp defends itself. As I said, many of those flinging smears now were chummy with Trump in years past.

Toolsmith, I agree with you

Toolsmith, I agree with you on the last election. I couldn't vote for anyone for President. What do you call the MSM? Is Fox News part of the MSM? They've been all in for Trump for a long time, though Trump is pissed that they give a D any air time at all, and actually report the results of their polls. As for "being chummy", you bet. They all were as long as he was sending $$ their way. The MSM and many others gave Trump a free pass until he actually became a viable candidate, and then it was too late.
I get it. You're a Republican, but Republicans used to have consciences and in the past would never have supported a misogynist (grab 'em by the pussy) racist, narcissistic, liar like Trump. Their only excuse for doing so now is, "but, but, the D's, the socialists, communists, etc. etc.". That doesn't mean you have to support or defend Trump, but that's what most Rs I know are doing.

Your welcome David Allen .

Your welcome David Allen .

"bigot |ˈbiɡət|
noun
a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions: don't let a few small-minded bigots destroy the good image of the city he was a fanatical bigot."
Not sure that is the same as a "racist" ! But I agree in the age of ,one must have only approved thoughts ( even private ones) the racist label is much easier to use.

As for past R's I believe your characterizations omit some glowing examples of what you suggest , two names come to mind,Thurman and Rivers .

The truth is , both parties are not what they were imo.

TDS?? I figured I'd give him

TDS?? I figured I'd give him a chance to grow into the job, but have completely given up on him to the point where it's embarrassing to call him my president. I suppose if you're a white nationalist, a misogynist, or simply don't care how flawed a person's character is or how dangerous his decision-making process is (mostly echoing Fox News personalities) then you can continue to support him. The people who are really afflicted with TDS are those who support him, despite his obvious character flaws and the infantile way he conducts himself, especially when he feels attacked or disrespected. His behavior is now what is deemed "presidential"?
So, do I qualify for the "love it or leave it" award, or is dissent still allowed?

Dissent is allowed, just not

Dissent is allowed, just not on AMG. To be in good standing here - and never face criticism from the faithful - you must salivate at Trump’s every word and action. You must denigrate and come up with cutesy nicknames for those who dare question any action by the thrice divorced serial philanderer.

America Über Alles!

...says the hypocrite from the scatological nickname gang.

I support anything that keeps America out of the hands of communist blackshirts and their socialist sympathizers. We've got enough problems, we don't need totalitarian ideologies of fiscal fantasies.

Criticize the current fiscal situation, but support the $65 trillion Green New Deal and $100 trillion Medicare-For-All? Ridiculous. What we've got is plenty bad, we don't need the crowd determined to make it worse.

Give me an alternative. And I don't mean that cannabis-overloaded libertarian. We need a REAL 3rd option.

Meanwhile, with their Ranked-Choice (ME), Jungle Primary system (CA), and Electoral College compact the left is determined to make sure we never get any choice at all. The right just wants it limited to 2, but the left thinks 1 choice only is best. And they know best, as our trolls here keep telling us... it's for our own good.

I don't recall telling anyone

I don't recall telling anyone here that socialist policies would be good for them and I'm not gonna pretend that I wish anything good for you. I think you're all a version of a Trump mini-me who deserve every bit of scorn that is heaped upon you for being racist, xenophobic, hypocritical, soulless pigs. Prayer is wasted on you. You're too far gone.

Not so fast on the demise of

Not so fast on the demise of the Tea Party....

"In honor of the tea party’s 10 years of action, we are headed back to Washington, DC on September 19, 2019, to send a loud message on behalf of the American people that America will never be a socialist country!
RSVP TODAY
The tea party movement burst into the national scene in 2009 when we opposed President Obama’s stimulus bill, and we are still fighting against overspending, big government, and socialist policies in 2019. Socialism as an ideology will always exist, but it’s up to us to make sure it stays on the fringe and doesn’t gain any more clout than it has right now.

America doesn’t want Obamacare expansion, “Medicare for All,” or any kind of single-payer system. America doesn’t want the government to pay for college tuition or pay off student loans with taxpayer money. And we sure as heck don’t want the government raising taxes to pay for it all.

With the left embracing all of socialism with open arms, there is no time to lose. Please RSVP today and join us in DC this fall to make a statement that the media and Congress cannot ignore.
THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO MAKE HISTORY ONCE AGAIN!"

I'm sure it will be as well attended as Trump's inauguration, which was the bigliest ever.
