The Baltimore Police Department suspended seven officers after body camera video emerged that the city's public defender said appeared to show them planting drugs in a car during a traffic stop, the second such episode in the city in two weeks.
Cops in Baltimore are now required to wear body cameras. When the cameras are activated, they not only start recording - they also save the 30 seconds BEFORE the cameras were turned on. Ooops... guess the cops didn't know that. Should have read the manuals.
Anyway, the Police Chief brushes this off as merely "growing pains" as the officers learn to use the new technology.
