Foliage and Waffles

Foliage and Waffles; How can you beat it? Tomorrow morning in Springfield, right on Route 6, they will have an amazing breakfast, Waffles with either strawberries or maple syrup, home baked beans, eggs as you like em and sausage, all for five bucks. It starts at 7 AM and goes to 10 AM. Sausage gravy on biscuits too. All you can eat.

This benefits the local snowmobile club that covers parts of four counties and up here the counties are BIG.

Are they still making paper

Are they still making paper there in Lincoln?
If so, do you still get the stench down your way?

PressMan247, I don't know if

PressMan247, I don't know if this question is addressed at large or just to Roger, but the mill closed a couple of years ago.

But before that, the paper-making process changed many years ago.

You apparently haven't been there since the last century. There has been no "stench" in the Lincoln area for a long, long time.

I lived in a paper town for

I lived in a paper town for many years... Up to just a few years ago, and from time to time, we still got the paper mill smell.

They tend to discharge at night under certain atmospheric conditions. Not sure which ones.

I'm very pro-paper. Those were good jobs in Maine's rural communities. That was more of the gist of my question. If the mill was still in operation.

When our mill town was thriving, they had some of the lowest property taxes in Maine and gold plated services. A pretty decent trade-off for a few stinky days a month. After awhile, you don't even notice it.

Environazi organizations like

Environazi organizations like NRCM, Audubon Society, and The Nature Conservancy have decided that we in the rural areas must exist on a great big steaming plate of "quality of place" while they wipe their butts and build their homes with Canadian forest products.
