I know the Wikipedia is not much of an authoritative source but the definition of Fascism they publish is what most people think Fascism is. Essentially, they describe it as:

"Fascism /ˈfæʃɪzəm/ is a form of radical authoritarian nationalism,[1][2] characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and control of industry and commerce."

Moreover, they say it is part of the Right-wing political philosophy as follows:

Opposed to liberalism, Marxism, and anarchism, fascism is usually placed on the far-right within the traditional left–right spectrum.

This characterization of Fascism is almost a perfect description of Liberal/Democratic policies.

Other than that progressives

Other than that progressives aren't much for 'nationalism.'

They favor 'identity-group-ism.'

That's an odd definition,

That's an odd definition, given that Socialism was a critical part of most fascist regimes. Opposed to communism, yes, but that doesn't make you right wing...
