Bobcat sighting in Mass. area..first since Colonial America Days

Aug 22, 2013
Cape Cod,Falmouth,Ma. —

A bobcat has been confirmed on Cape Cod for the first time since the Colonial era.

.....likely that it crossed a bridge.

Bobcats are among the most reclusive wild animals in New England

They are not considered a threat to humans,

In 2008, a State Police cruiser struck and killed a bobcat on Route 44 in Carver, It was the first one seen in southeastern Massachusetts in years.
Last year, a bear was spotted on Cape Cod for the first time.

Anyone familiar or have been

Anyone familiar or have been to the Hockomock Swamp area? about 40 miles away from that area.

From what i have read, it may have the answers to where many of the wildlife have been originating from, when they are seen in populated areas. Supposedly there are areas of the swamp so remote, humans have not set foot/seen in centuries. About 30 years ago, an estimated 300 year old Indian boat was found in a remote section of the swamp, just laying there in the open.

For many decades, there have been numerous sightings of bob cats and other wildlife in the swamp area, however the sightings were mostly taken with a grain of salt. Now that everyone and their brother has a camera.....

I love the archetypical

I love the archetypical mythology in the image of wild Bob cats descending upon civilized culture in MA. Next- the movie!

Of course stun guns will ruin it.

Would you settle for Bigfoot

Would you settle for Bigfoot coming out and running amuck among Mass. civilian areas? although their bigfoot looks like a scrawny hairy Liberal from the '60s

No wonder the bobcats are fleeing Hockomock Swamp; with that thing running around in there, I would, too!
