Matt Lauer ...fired for ...oh you know......https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/29/business/media/nbc-matt-lauer.html
Apologize, Matt; that's all there is to it and we'll see you bright and early tomorrow morning. All better.
Just goes to show that you're all pretty much assholes.
Jasper , you’re meaning all men? Hmmmm........ jasper are you telling us that you are a female?
He's as quick on the uptake as a Jersey barrier. And as witty as a hockey puck, as Don Rickles might have said.
Jasper is a women?
It makes sense. Man, have we been trolled.
Garrison Keillor says fired over alleged improper behavior
" . . Keillor told The Associated Press of his firing in an email. In a follow-up statement, he said he was fired over "a story that I think is more interesting and more complicated than the version MPR heard." He didn't give details of the allegation . .
. . The statement came shortly after Keillor, an avowed Democrat, wrote a syndicated column LINK that ridiculed the idea that Sen. Al Franken should resign over allegations of sexual harassment."
I am across the St. Croix River, in WI, listening to this unfold . . on Minneapolis Public Radio, no less . . LIVE! NPR is now leading with it before they quickly segue to Matt (not our Mat) Lauer.
I hope his wife and adult daughter are taking it well.
A little MPR/Prairie Home trivia: A lot of NPR stations run Prairie Home live on Saturday and then rerun it on Sunday. You knew that. MPR runs the live but reruns old Keillor on Sunday. That arrangement ends today as will MPR's distribution of 'A Writers Almanac'.
MPR and NPR's 42 year running cash machine is unceremoniously broomed . . for ALLEGATIONS but Franken is still the Senator for ALDIDITS. No double standard there, huh?
Re: Jasper aka Smegma.
It does not matter ,gender that is.
Regardless of what it is it is still a P.O.S. .
Keep it simple !
Heres a list of the top 40 who have taken a dive over sexual improprieties this year..............https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/11/10/us/men-accused-sexual-mis...
PBS suspends 'Tavis Smiley' following sexual misconduct investigation
" . . The investigation found credible allegations that Smiley had engaged in sexual relationships with multiple subordinates, sources said. Some witnesses interviewed expressed concern that their employment status was linked to the status of a sexual relationship with Smiley.
In general, they described Smiley as creating a verbally abusive and threatening environment that went beyond what could be expected in a typical high-pressure work environment. Several expressed concerns about retaliation."
How odd. You mean, there was an investigation BEFORE you ruined his career? Imagine that.
Do you know any liberal moonbats actually looking for work? Between PBS and NPR, there has to be a fit.
What? A-lister betrays the narrative!
Matt Damon gives car-crash interview about Hollywood sexual abuse
" . . "There's a difference between, you know, patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right?"
" . . "The fear for me is that right now, we're in this moment where at the moment — and I hope it doesn't stay this way — the clearer signal to men and to younger people is, deny it," he argued. "Because if you take responsibility for what you did, your life's going to get ruined."
" , , Then . .
" . . "Now... with social media, these stories get — it's like they get gasoline poured on them . . "
See? The broken clock works!
And I love the headline: It's a car crash because it goes against the grain. Good on you, Matt! (Not our Mat)
Does make you appreciate the men who are gentlemen. Not many left...but there are a few.
Charlotte, I couldn't agree more.
And in most cases, I would say we have their mothers to thank for raising them to have respect for women.
I almost forgot . . so sorry, Tom!
Details Emerge About Accusations Against Ashbrook
" . . Tirades directed at young women in the studio. Name calling and belittling critiques of show ideas during meetings. “Creepy” sex talk, hugs and back or neck rubs after a dressing down. That’s the pattern of alleged abuse "
" . . On Point, produced at WBUR in Boston, is carried by more than 290 NPR stations in the United States. "
" . . WBUR and Boston University have placed Ashbrook on leave while an outside investigator reviews the allegations."
And don't forget the CBC guy (name escapes me) who got the whole ball rolling a few years ago.
Just gross. This isn't a conservative vs. liberal thing...it is a creepy guy thing. I am lucky, I had a great male role model in my life.
