I believe she's said she said she doesn't want to vote for a bill until she's read it and understands its ramifications. I'm no big Susan Collins fan, but that sound sensible to me. It's inexcusable and an insult to the public for the Senate leadership to want a vote on this bill before we know what it says. For all its faults, Obamacare was several years in the making, with many, many hearings, discussions and debates. It can remain the law of the land for a few days longer until we figure out how to really make health care work in the country. Whatever legislation that comes out of this will affect millions of Americans, practically every business out there, our community hospitals and nursing homes and our ability to receive urgent care where and when its needed. Yet McConnell and his rabid anti-Obama followers want this thing voted on before the July 4 break, meaning before the senators can get home to talk to their constituents about it. Meanwhile, Schumer and crew just stand there whining instead of proposing their own bill to fix the problems with the ACA. The behavior on both sides disgusts me.
Isn’t Chuck Todd from NBC? You know, part of the fake news swamp? Citing a “solid source”. And you automatically believe it?
Posturing, trying to get a quid pro quo. She'll fall in line when the time comes.
How could anyone possibly be surprised that susan would oppose the repeal of obamacare......
This isn't a surprise since it has been her position right along.
She is just upset she hasn't been part of the secret meetings.
How ironic most of us have felt left out by her also.
